Tournament Report

It was a beautiful weather weekend to kick off the Ohio Valley's first Fall Regional! Along with the weather came some fast conditions, particularly the greens, which brought difficulty not only when you were putting but approaching the green as well. Still that did not intimidate players in the field from shooting low scores, such as medalist Dean Hitt from The Ohio State University with a 74-74. Dean won the tournament by a total of 5 strokes. Next came a three way tie for second, with a 153, by Jonathan Prater and Brandon Conrad from Dayton, and Peter Mandich from Miami. Miami had the team depth to go on and win the tournament, with 8 of their 10 counting scores 78 or below. Dayton held a slim one stroke lead heading into Sunday, but Miami was able to flip the script, winning by 2 on Sunday and by 1 for the tournament with a score of 772. Dayton finished 2nd with a 773, and Ohio State third with 779. Miami now has the advantage heading into Regional 2 to qualify for Nationals, but it is still all to play for in Lexington, Kentucky in a month's time.
The NCCGA hosted our 1st golf tournament of the season in Ohio Valley Region at Pipestone Golf Course on Sep 24, 2016. Team Miami of Ohio (A) won the division with a combined score of 772. The low individual score was recorded by Dean Hitt shooting a score of 148.
