Fall 2019 Nationals – Thackerville, OK
The NCCGA National Championship made it’s first ever trip to Oklahoma at the WinStar World Casino & Resort. The 36-hole facility provided two unique courses and calm conditions were great for scoring. 12 players finished at E or better which is the highest ever in a National Championship
Clemson University captured their 2nd straight Championship, bettering Michigan State by just 3 shots. This was even more impressive when looking at their lineup, as only 2 of their starting 8 returned from their spring Championship team!
Jacob Kuchta from the University of Virginia won the Red Jacket in a playoff with Michigan State’s Dennis Volostnykh. They both shot a 2-day total of -3, with Jacob parring the first playoff hole to seal the victory.
Down the road at Dornick Hills Country Club, the University of Texas won the National Invitational over Stanford and Cincinnati. Stanford’s Jack Barber took home medalist honors with a 1 shot victory over Texas’ Austin Chung.
